• $400 to Homes for our Troops (Severely Injured Veterans)
• $350 to Rappahannock Center for Domestic Violence
• $350 to Hope House
• $300 to Wounded Warriors Project
• $228 to FOE Diabetes Research Center
• $200 to Local Wrestling Team
• $225 ($2000 worth of food) to Local Food Bank plus lots and lots of non-perishable food items
• $125 to VA Prostate Center
• $100 to St. Baldrick's Child Cancer Foundation
• $50 to Special Olympics

We have also donated the use of the Aerie building for various private charity events (see below). Our members have volunteered many hours to make all the events a success.

Fund Raisers in 2010

The February Fund Raising Events to benefit the Max Baer Heart Fund and other FOE Charities were a huge success. Our community supported this event by donating all kinds of special items/services that we raffled off at the dance. Donations were received from Allure Medspa, Hampton Inn & Suites, Cannon Ridge Golf Club, Stafford Sport and Heath, Hooters, Chunga’s Day Spa, Massage Matters Therapy & Wellness Center, Mick’s Restaurant & Sports, Exsalonce Salon & Day Spa, Dougherty’s Tavern, Prime Tours & Travel Limo Service, Cookies Barber Shop, Boswell Antiques, Liberty Tax Services, Eddie’s Towing & Recovery, Liberty Lanes Bowling, etc. Stafford’s finest, Fire Rescue Station #2, were there doing blood pressure tests during the dance. The Hooter Girls and 1st Laugh Entertainment volunteered their time to participate in this event. The Wild Fire Band provided great music and entertainment at a reduced price. Thank you to everyone that contributed and made this a huge success! We raised $2,500 for our charities!!!

Our “Shamrocks for Sugar” raffle to benefit the FOE Diabetes Research Center and other FOE charities was a success and we collected $342 for our charities. The Auxiliary prevailed and sold the most raffle tickets; therefore, the men will be preparing, cooking, serving and cleaning up after our next party. Thanks to everyone that sold tickets.

FOE #4488 donated the use of the social hall for a Charity Poker Fundraiser for “MS” on April 10th.

June 5th, members of FOE #4488 participated in a “Softball Tournament” to benefit Baby Lily Noakes who was born with anaplastic ependymoma, a brain tumor. Lily’s mother and grandparents are members of FOE #4488 and it is a great honor for FOE #4488 to be able to help our FOE brothers and sisters in this way. The Noakes family would like to thank everyone who participated and made the event a huge success.

Jun 26th, FOE #4488 donated the use of the social hall and members provided food for a Charity Fundraiser for Baby Sean Clawson who was born with multiple health issues (Spina Bifida, club foot and water on the brain). Sean’s father & grandparents are members of #4488 and it was a great honor to be able to help them. The Clawson’s would like to thank the FOE Aerie and Auxiliary for all their help and support in making this event a huge success.

Virginia State Auxiliary President's Charity

State Madam President Kitty Diamond has chosen The Children’s Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) as her charity, specifically earmarking all donations to their Pediatric Therapy Program.

CHoR is a resource and provider of specialized medical and therapeutic services customized to meet the specific needs of children and their families. CHoR’s Pediatric Therapy Program serves more children than any other in the region and does so with five area locations (Richmond, Bon Air, Glen Allen, Petersburg and Fredericksburg) to meet the needs of the families they serve.

They provide specialized therapeutic services for children between the ages of 0 and 21. Their team of pediatric experts includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech language pathologists. Physical Therapy focuses on gross motor skills needed for walking and all balance/coordination activities. Occupational Therapy focuses on daily living skills and fine motor skills. Speech Language Pathology focuses on language and thinking skills.

The Arc is the world’s largest community based organization of and for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities --- promoting and protecting their rights and actively supporting their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.

The Arc believes that all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have strengths, abilities and inherent value; are equal before the law; and must be treated with dignity and respect.
